Weekends are always busy around here..

Our weekends start on Sunday and go until Monday, because that is when Chris is off. Saturday is like a normal weekday to us, so we try and stay busy to make the time fly by until daddy is home for two days.

This Saturday was a really nice day outside so I decided to take the kids to the Farmer's Market in Madison. We love the Farmer's market. We get fresh baked goodies, sit on the capital steps, and eat our treats. Then we walk around and look for some veggies and cheese curds. This has gotten to be quite a frequent trip in our house this summer. After the Farmer's market, I took the kids to the children's museum. They loved it. We have been there a few times last summer but this was the first time that they actually enjoyed it. We will be spending many days there during the summer heat and throughout the next year (we got a season pass because it is such a great place to spend our time)

Sunday was a busy day for us. Lily was in the Oregon Summerfest parade with her preschool. We dropped her off and she rode the float while we watched the parade with many others from Grandma Erfurth's house. This year the parade route went right past her. It was a beautiful and breezy day to be outside. Lily looked so cute dressed like a bumble bee. Their float was adorable. Lily sat on the float and even threw people candy. I know I say this all the time but she really growing up so fast. We pulled Lily off the float at Grandma Erfurth's house since it was almost the end. We all watched the parade while the kiddos played. Then we took Lily and Nolan to the fair to ride some rides. That didn't last too long. It was really busy and the rides were so darn expensive that it totally wasn't worth doing more than a couple of rides. They really make out on those fairs by ripping people off.
We headed home for a while to hopefully give the kids a nap before fireworks and the big race night but we were greeted with cute neighbor girls wanting us to buy lemonade so Lily played there for a while, while some lady neighbors and I sat with our "adult lemonade" , relaxed, talked, and soaked in some rays.

So after relaxing a while we headed off the watch the races where Auntie Coco raced. I just have to say that we are so proud of her. She WON!!! YAH!! We were all so excited for her. She got a standing ovation from everyone and it was such a great night for her. There are not many women who drive those midget race cars so she is out there doing her thing and doing it really well. Great job Courtney!! We are so so proud of you. I was never really into the races before this year but I am starting to think they are fun to go to. The kids are somewhat interested in them and cheer Courtney and her boyfriend on... and we actually know people that are racing so that keeps us interested. She did a good job and was so popular that she signed autographs for a while after her big win. And... her boyfriend won his heat as well so that was neat too.
And to top off her big win... they had fireworks scheduled at the race track too, so we watched a wonderful firework show as well. Lily fell asleep during the races and was out for the whole firework show and Nolan was scared of the fireworks for a while and then warmed up a bit. I am anxious to see how they are on July 4th for fireworks.

To the Beach we go...

Friday was a very very hot day. This whole past week has been hot here. We had a playdate at a park in the morning with Luke and Meagan and then in the afternoon, we thought that we would give Grammy a call because she was off on Friday's. Grammy had stuff to do that day but after much convincing, we all went to the beach for the afternoon. We had a blast. The water was warm, they had slides, and sand. We spent the afternoon building sand castles, swimming in the water, playing in the sprinkler there, and soaking in some rays. Lily was swimming like a fish and even met a few older friends there and tried to keep up with them. It was great. And when we got home, we emptied our swimsuits which were full of sand :)

When we were done swimming and beachin' it, we saw the ice cream man. This was the kid's first visit to the ice cream truck. They were so excited to get ice cream from a singing truck. It made me feel like a kid again too.

Breakfast on the Farm...

So last weekend I took the kids to Breakfast on the Farm. It was just me and the kids and we had a wonderful time. We had a pancake, egg, juice, milk, and ice cream breakfast; Lily got her leg painted instead of her face; we went on a hayride; we fed the animals; and the kids wondering around exploring new things. This is going to have to be an annual thing for us at Eugsters Farm.

Lily's Fourth Birthday

I realize that I am a bit behind again on posting so I thought I would start with Lily's birthday pictures. Lily and I had a wonderful day out. We had lunch together, picked up a Gloria Jeans coffee drink, both of us, and then went to build a bear. Lily loves that place and it is for our special occasions only. It was a wonderful afternoon. Chris got home early and we went out for Lily's birthday to Ella's Deli. Then we came home and did the birthday gift thing. We got Lily a Jeep hurricane. She loved it at first, but is now scared of it. She ran through the bushes and into a little light post, so she is done for now.... she has no interest in riding it. It is so big and I think it scares her to drive it. Nolan gave Lily a butterfly garden and a butterfly book so she can see caterpillars turn into butterflies in her own cage.

Happy Father's Day!!

Happy Father's Day to my wonderful husband!! The kids are so lucky to have you as a father and I am so lucky to have you as a husband. Hopefully it it relaxing for you and you have fun golfing :) We love you!!

Also, Happy Father's Day to my wonderful Dad. We love you and hope that you have wonderful Father's Day!!

Happy Birthday Lily!!

We know you can't read quite yet, but we read our blog to you and we wanted to tell you that we love you and hope you have a wonderful birthday!! You are Daddy and Mommy's big girl now!! One more year and then you are five ( Note... Lily has been begging us to be five. She is fascinated with being five )

Note.. we put pictures up of birthday's 2,3, and 4. Just born and age 1 are not on this computer.. only in picture form and we don't have a scanner that works yet :)

The Big "04"

Lily's Birthday is tomorrow. She will be the Big "04" I can't believe how quickly four years has passed since she was born. It seriously seems like yesterday we were sitting in that hospital room. Now my baby is four :( Makes me kinda sad, but it has been amazing to see this little person grow over the years. Truly is amazing.

We had her birthday party over the weekend, on Sunday. It was a Luau themed party and we couldn't have asked for better weather. We had her party outside and it was wonderful. She had a lot of fun.

Last week was a busy week. We have been busy working on house and having her party, really pushed us to get things done. Chris finished the tiled front porch, the kitchen trim, cleaned out the garage and finished lots of yard work. David came over last week and built me my pergola that I wanted so bad, which was awesome, so we painted that as well.

Saturday we had a grad party in Elkhorn for Douglas. Can't believe he graduated from High School. Makes me feel so old. Dad and Mom VV took Lily and Nolan back from that so I could shop for Lily's party alone. Boy was that a treat :)


Tomorrow, Lily's Birthday, Lily and I are having a girls day. I got a babysitter for Nolan( Actually Chris's cousin Brad whom Nolan adores) and Lily and I are going out to lunch, and then build a bear( which is a birthday tradition in our family----Every year for the kids birthday's they get to go to build a bear and pick something out), then to get our nails done. It should be fun. When we get home, all four of us are going out to eat at Ella's deli in Madison. We love that place. It is a deli but for kids. They have a carousel and other fun things for them. We have to be home in the morning because Lily's gift will be delivered then. Good timing, huh :) We were hoping that it would arrive in time and it will. YEAH!!! More to come on what we got her later... She will certainly be surprised.

Mini Vacation..

To celebrate the end of the school year for Lily and work so hard for her dance recital, we decided to take the kids to the Dells for the night. We got a great deal on a hotel room and stayed at the Polynesian water park resort.We left early Sunday morning and got home late this afternoon.
We had a BLAST!! The hotel was very nice and had a wonderful outdoor water park and two indoor water parks. A couple of game rooms, and many kiddy areas inside that had toys. It was a great place to stay with the kids and not overwhelming like some of those huge resorts could be. We couldn't have asked for two better days to go and yesterday there were about four other families at the water park and today we were the only ones. It was wonderful. No lines for anything. The kids played nicely and we enjoyed the outdoors. I would have to say that the kid's favorite ride was the lazy river. We spend hours on the lazy river. They also enjoyed the swings in the water. Lily rode on a few water slides but got a bit scared with the huge tube slide that needed a tub. They were huge and I got scared going down them as well :) It was a wonderful break and said that we were going to try and go back to this place once a month for the summer.

LILY's BIG Day!!

Lily had her dance recital on Saturday. She did such a wonderful job. We got her ready in her dance outfit, showed her off to some friends and family and then took her to her recital. We were to be there 1 hour before the show, and of course, this was the day that Lily did not take a nap as she was too excited for everyone to see her perform. So.. when we got to the show to drop her off in her waiting room with the "Babysitters" ( yes, they had babysitters watching the kids so the parents and family members could enjoy the show without the kiddos ...it was wonderful ( and Nolan was with Aunt Kay and Uncle Bob for the evening) ), she decided that she didn't want to be in there and started to cry hysterically. I think she was nervous because it was so overwhelming for a little one ( she wasn't the only one in her class to cry backstage) So, right before she went on stage, I found my seat by Chris, Mom and Dad VV, Mom E, David and Jenna, and watched her perform. It was so so cute. Just Darling!! We were so proud of her. She did such a great job and the little girls even got some laughs from the audience. Her class was the youngest one to perform. After the show, everyone brought her flowers which was so so nice. She loved it and I know she felt like a star. She had the biggest smile on her face. Thanks to you guys for coming to her show and being there to supporting her. That means so so much to her to have you there. Unfortunately we were only allowed 7 tickets so some had to miss out but we got some video of her at her dress rehearsal for all to see. The show was two hours. I have never been to a dance recital before and it was so neat. The talent that these girls have is just amazing. They asked us not to snap photos of the girls at the recital but we just had to take a few !!
