Guilty as charged.... Caught red handed!!
Mommy Confessions.....................
So... the kids and I made these cupcakes the other day. They were cherry chip with confetti frosting and boy were they messy when the kids dug into them :) They were playing nicely together and those cupcakes sure were calling me today!! So... Guess what I did. I snuck away, stole a cupcake from the container and ate it in the bathroom where no one could find me. I was downing the cupcake to the point of choking so they wouldn't catch me. ( I would have shared but I didn't feel like cleaning cupcakes off of them ) About one minute later.. I hear two little ones barging their way into the bathroom. I was caught, and of course, reprimanded by Lily for not sharing. She said my behavior was unexpectable.
So guess what the kids had... cupcakes. And guess what I had to do.... Clean up the cupcake mess from their hands, faces, counter tops, chairs, etc. I felt too guilty for not sharing and had to give them one. Uggg!!!

GIMME SOME CORN!!!!
We hit up the sweet corn festival in Sun Prairie over the weekend. We had a blast. The kids did rides.... even the tea cup ride for Lily. She was a bit sick when she was done with that. She said
" Mommy... I am so so bizzy" ( Which means Mom, I am dizzy so please grab a trash can... She didn't end up getting sick though) We all hit up the ferris wheel. It was Nolan's first trip on one and he wasn't so sure. Chris and Nolan were in one cart and Lily and I were in another. We could see their cart and I could see that when the ferris wheel would start to come down, Nolan's face looked terrified. Good thing it didn't last that long. We followed the rides up with loads of sweet corn. How nice huh!!

As promised.... pictures of our trip to Chuck E Cheese!! The kids had a good time and I think that Great Grandma Mariella did too!! I love the picture of Nolan when Grandma is holding him:) Poor Grandma. I don't know if he didn't want her, if he was scared of Chucke or both.

A week in review....
We sure did have another busy week. I hate to say this but I am kinda looking forward to Fall and Winter so that things start settling down and we spend more time inside... yes I said it.... I would love to just be inside. I actually like the rainy days we have been having so we can cuddle up in sweats and play games all day long.
Lily finished up with swimming lessons this week. She is a little fish. We have found something that she loves to do. Swim and Dance are her favorite things right now. We had her back to school night at preschool on Weds. She got to meet some friends that will be in her class. Lily was supposed to be in the afternoon class because the morning class filled up so fast, but we got a call from her teacher saying that someone moved so we got the spot. YAH!!! We wanted the morning class so bad but they filled up within an hour of registration last year. So now we got the spot.
Thursday night I had BUNCO with the ladies. I look forward to BUNCO every month. It is my time to chat with the ladies, eat some goodies, have a cocktail, and relax for a few hours with some good adult conversation. Gotta love BUNCO!! Chris had to work late that night so a special thanks to mom and dad VV who watched the kids for me.
Thursdays and Fridays are our long days. Chris works open to close those days. This past Friday night we were bored so we decided to give Grammy and Papa a call and have them over for pizza.
Today, we had a wonderful day. Last night we got an email from Grandma Venhousen to meet in Janesville for lunch. We met Great Grandma VenHousen/Mariella in Janesville at Chuck E Cheese. We spent our afternoon playing games, eating pizza, dancing with Chucke and shopping since it was connected to the mall. It was nice to spend time with her and we got a chance to catch up a bit. I will post a picture of our afternoon, later. We spent this evening watching THE PACKERS!!! Feels like fall already.. football... blue jeans and sweatshirts in this 60 degree weather. Much to our surprise, we also had a night filled with fireworks that were going on at the country club near our house. It was nice..... we could see the whole show from our bedroom window. Lily and I watched for a bit ( she had a late nap because of our busy afternoon so she got to stay up late which she says is the best thing in the whole wide world) ... and of course... this was the best thing she said she has ever seen!! I just love it when they get excited with things....As they get older, I don't think it will last for much longer.
Tomorrow we are headed to Sun Prairie for the Sweet Corn Festival, followed by watching Courtney race her car. It will be a long race so we are thinking that we will probably leave before it is finished because it will be a late one. However, it should be a fun afternoon and evening as well.
Today, we got home from pizza and Lily checked our mail. She had another birthday invitation in the mail from a friend, and she was so excited. I wish I could have had a camera on her watching her open that letter. First...she loves mail. Then, she knew it was from a friend. She kept telling me that it was so so special and she would cherish the invitation forever and it was her FAVORITE thing she had ever seen. How cute!!!! Now if we can only get her to stay at the parties for 3.5 hours or atleast until the party ends :) She lasted 1.5 hours with the last one and she wanted to come home.
As for Nolan... he is just talking like crazy. Repeating everything and anything. Every word I say or anyone says, he tries to say it back. It has become quite the comedy show, hearing him put words together and shout out random words. Thanks to Grammy and Papa who taught him Toot and Fart the other day. Those are some of his favorite words :-)

Papa's new camera
So Dad VV ( aka Papa) got a new camera the other day. He got a Nikon D5000. It shoots great pictures and we were lucky enough to be his guinea pigs. He took pictures when they came over the other day, and then he took a bunch at Lily's soccer game last night. For some reason, I can't get the ones at Lily's game, downloaded onto the computer right now, but I will try again. In the meantime, here are some pictures from our house, and one of Chris and Nolan at the game.

MEXICO... Here we come!!

We are taking a trip to Mexico next month to an All inclusive resort with the kids. We absolutely cannot wait. Chris's sister and her boyfriend are coming with us too. We thought it would be fun to have a few of us there. You will find us sipping pina coladas, soaking in the rays, Building sand castles, and relaxing with our wonderful children in a few weeks.

Chillin
Yesterday was Chris's last day off before he goes back to work. We decided that since it was a beautiful day out, we would take the kids to the Children's musuem and then out for lunch. We happened to come across a huge party that they were having downtown by the capitol and musuem. They were celebrating "My Menu's " birthday party. They had free cake, gift cards for their store, balloon animals, and face painting. The kids really enjoyed that. When we were in the children's musuem, a lady came and asked Lily if she would like to do an art project. So the kids ended up making tiles for the new musuem's floors. The new museum will open next summer.

Cream Puffs, Cream Puffs, and more Cream Puffs
Chris had a few vacation days to use this week. We decided that we would just stay home and do local events rather than going somewhere on a mini trip since we are going to Cancun next month. We went to the State Fair in Milwaukee on Monday and it was a blast. We saw animals, ate tons of food ( which isn't so good for me because I am trying to lose some weight before we hit the beaches in Mexico next month), did arts and crafts and just had a wonderful afternoon with the kids. All I have to say is Yummy Cream Puffs....how neat that we could see them making my favorite. Oh.. and we stopped at the outlet mall on the way home. Another one of my favorite places. I didn't get to shop that much...I usually don't with Chris because he waits in the car and I feel bad if I take too much time. Anyone up for a road trip to Johnson Creek sometime in the near future?
Tuesday, Lily and I had a day out together. Just the two of us. I love these days. We were on a mission to find a swim suit for her. Believe it or not, it was so hard to find one. Most of the stores around here are out of them for the season. I did finally find one, but it was just a touch too big. We then had lunch together as well. Nolan and Chris did yard work. My poor hubby is doing yard work on his day off. Courtney and Bubba came over in the afternoon and Courtney and Lily went shopping for a swim suit for Courtney. Her and Bubba are coming with us four on vacation as well.
