Trick or Treating

Well.... Tonight was trick or treating here. Lily had a good time. Chris came home from work for a couple of hours(I had a drs. apt. today and am already 4 centimeter dialated and didnt want to walk that far with her by myself and up to every door) and we both took her around the neighborhood. She did lots of walking and did a very good job saying trick or treat and please and thank you. She also reminded her self to take "just one please". Even though a few houses told her she could have two pieces, she said "just one please". We had to take a short side trip back home to empty candy because her bag was too heavy for her to carry.

We had a great time and left the bowl out on our front door for some of the time so the kiddos could still get candy from our house. Then we came back home and Lily answered the door and gave kids candy. She enjoyed this as well.

Right now she is watching Charlie's browns great pumpkin and sorting candy. This is a tradition that we started with her when she was little and plan to continue this.
Grandparents(Mom and Dad VV and Mom E)... Look for the rest of the pictures from our night on your email. I emailed them to you so you can print them off.

Night eyes event at the zoo

We went to the night eyes event at the zoo on Thursday evening. We had a blast. Lily got to trick or treat through the zoo with her little pumpkin bag. She had fun saying trick or treat and loved getting all the candy and toys. She wanted to stop after every station and eat her treats. Wrapper and all. We would often catch her snacking on something with the wrapper on. They had games and activities like a bounce house for the kiddos too. She definately got her exercise walking the whole zoo. It will prepare her for "Beggar's night" on Tuesday. That is what they call Trick or Treating down here and it is held always on the night before Halloween rather than on halloween. There is nothing that goes on for the kids on Halloween here in Des Moines. Weird huh.....
Enjoy our Itsy bitsy spider.

More pictures of inside and upstairs

It's coming along

Well.. The house is coming along. We have to finish the upstairs bathrooms and paint and flooring which should be done tomorrow. We need to put up one more fixture in the kitchen/eating area and then hang one set of drapes. Other than that.. everything is going well. We had a few people come and give us estimates on the basement so after the baby is born, we will finish that off so we have more room.
Here are some pictures of the rooms. And of course, Lily sleeping in her big girl bed. She adjusted very well into this bed. We just told her that our new house only comes with a big girl bed for Lily. We did find her today though... In the babies crib. Dont know how she got in there but we thought it was funny.

Our Big Weekend

We had a big weekend around here. We closed on our new house on Thursday am and have been busy painting and fixing things up. Dad and Mom VV came down on Friday and helped out a bunch with moving things, painting, and watching Lily so we could work on things. Here are some before and after pictures of the outside of the house. The top on is before the fix up and as we purchased it before anyone got to paint the outside. It was in rough shape on the outside. Down here in Iowa, they use something called Masonite rather than vinyl and Masonite fades so it needs to be painted often. The previous owners did not take care of the outside and it was faded and an ugly color. As you can see, it is quite a different now. Chris was busy on Thursday and Friday painting and trimming the inside of the house. Dad VV painted inside on Friday and Saturday. And he brought down their trailer to help clear out the whole garage and storage area. Mom watched Lily and kept her out of things and busy while we were able to do many things inside. It is hard to do with a two year old who is curious. Right mom? After many many Menard's trips, the house is finally coming together. But we still have a long way to go.

Pumpkin Picking Time

Today we went to the Pumpkin Patch and picked our own pumpkins. We had a blast. We took a hayride out to the field where Lily found her perfect pumpkin. She even picked one for her Baby Brother. Don't know if he will be here by Halloween but she was excited.
Lily loved the pumpkin patch as you can see. She was all full of smiles. She drove "PaPa's tractor" and visited the animals. She found some ducks and insisted on chasing them. So... As you can picture, the ducks were running and Lily was following. After the pumpkin patch, we came home and washed our pumpkins. Now they are ready to carve in a few weeks.

Some random pictures...

Here are some random pictures of Lily and Us. Enjoy.

The Erfurth's

We are going to be trying this blog thing out. We thought this would be the best way to keep everyone informed with what is going on with us.
So all of you know that we now live in Iowa. We really like it down here. There are so many things to do, especially for children. Lily seems to be liking it as well. But we do miss our family.
Chris is doing well. He is busy at work but likes it. Lily is getting ready to be a big sister and learning how to use the potty. We are very excited about this.
We purchased a new home and close on it on October 11th. We have a few weeks to move out of our current place before our lease it up. It is in a very nice neighborhood. With some color on the walls and new carpet, it will become our own.
The baby is due in a few weeks. Actually, it is like four weeks now. We are coming up on it pretty quick. It is going to be a boy, for those of you who don't know already. We weren't going ot find out but then it just kinda happened. We are glad we know though. It helps us prepare with Lily. We are not telling a name. Guess you all will have to wait and see.
So, we will try and keep people updated this way. Check out our blog space once in a while and find out what is going on with us. We will also try and post pictures all the time.
Take care everyone and thanks for visiting.
