This week has been a busy week for us. We have had something going on every day/night. That is good though. We like to be busy. It makes the week go by fast so that Sunday and Monday ( Daddy Days) come around sooner. I had a work outing on Tuesday night at Pooley's in Madison for the owners birthday party. We had a blast. There were a lot of us there and it was night to sit back, relax, eat, and have a few drinks with coworkers. We even danced and sang karaoke. I LOVE Karaoke. I can't sing, but with others singing with you, it is fun. I had a really great time and we are planning on going out lots more in the future. And.. it was so nice for me to get out for a bit without the kiddos. Uncle Denny watched the kids which was fun for him...I think :) We gave him a bottle of vodka and martini olives as a thank you and he said he will probably need it after :)
Lily had been in summer school all this week. I have been having the mornings off to spend extra time with Nolan, run errands, and hanging out with mommies and their little ones. It is a big difference going from two kids to one. A lot easier to get things done :) After her summer school, which is about 1.5 hours, we spend our afternoons at the school park. We have met up with a couple of different people that we knew and let the kids play while the moms talk. Yesterday we got to see Alex, Ethan, and Carter. We had a picnic at the park with them. The kids always like to see them. Ethan and Carter are such sweet boys.
Today I took the kids downtown to Maxwell street days and to the Children's museum. We had lunch at Noodles and Company, which is their favorite place to eat. Tonight we are headed to Mom and Dad VV's house for pizza, then off to Lily's first soccer practice. Her first game is on Sunday at 2pm so anyone who want to come, feel free. She would love that.
Although the kids are growing up way to fast, it is fun to see them get older. They are both so sweet and have reduced the fighting to a minimum between each other :) Lily has really improved with her behavior and we rarely have to send her to timeout. I think that our timeout mat/rug really helps. She is at the point now, where she understands us and can communicate with us openly. She can talk things through, which is important for her and us. We have all been so much happier lately. The past few weeks have been phenominal around here.
